Pipe Weight Calculator
Calculate the theoretical weight of a steel pipe from its outside diameter, wall thickness and length — in kg per metre, per piece and per order quantity.
- Weight per metre
- 16.075 kg/m
- Weight per piece
- 96.45 kg
- Total (1 pcs)
- 96.45 kg
- Total in tonnes
- 0.096 MT
- Inside diameter
- 102.26 mm
Formula used
W (kg/m) = π × (OD − t) × t × ρ × 10⁻⁶
OD and wall thickness t in millimetres, density ρ in kg/m³. For carbon steel at 7850 kg/m³ this reduces to the familiar W = 0.02466 × (OD − t) × t.
Wall thickness must be less than half the outside diameter, otherwise the pipe has no bore.
Results are theoretical calculations based on the values you enter. Actual weights and quantities vary with manufacturing tolerances. Confirm requirements with our team before ordering.
